QuickFind and SheepShaver
- If you're on OS 10.4 or later, Spotlight works great for finding WP
files - name, metadata and contents, as well if the file is in the
Unix folder for use with SheepShaver, and even if the file has
been moved from the Unix folder to the SS desktop - it's still
accessible in OSX, in <Transfer Folder> / Desktop Folder.
On the SS volume itself, though, the included QuickFind utility
runs as fast as Spotlight, at least on the default 500 mb volume,
and has several advantages, including ten Boolean search filters,
including AND / OR options reminiscent of Google Advanced
Web Search, size, creator/type, modification date, and regular
expression search. File contents can be searched as well, using
string or regex expressions. You can also set six default search
areas, each as a button to click once you've entered search criteria.
When a list of hits is returned, you can also search within that.
