In OSX 10.4 (Tiger), you can control-click on a selected word
in a Cocoa app, and a contextual menu lets you seach for that
word in Google or in Spotlight.

Ya know, WordPerfect oughta have something like that.

"WP UltraSearch" lets you select text in WP and then searches
for it in your choice of:

      Google (web)
      Google (news)
      Wikipedia
      Wiktionary
      RefDesk
      British Library
      US Library of Congress

or on your local computer. Supports any OS version: local searches
use Spotlight if you have it, or Sherlock if your version supports
local searches, or a fast Applescript substitute otherwise.

Free in the Files section here.
