Group Description

Asperger Syndrome (AS) is often thought of as a male dominated condition, and there is very little information and guidance available to women dealing with our unique challenges.

I would like to invite all women with AS to join and support each other in learning how to recognize those aspects of our lives affected by the disorder, and assist each other in developing coping strategies that maximize our opportunities in life.

This is a moderated group and accepts only adult females who have AS. Our focus is the way in which AS impacts our lives. Those who need support for an AS family member or child will find many other online communities available for that purpose.

If the healthcare professions are not able or willing to address the differences between male and female manifestations of this condition, it is up to us to be there for each other.

Membership in this Group --

When requesting membership, please provide a brief outline of why you feel you are a good fit for this group.

Your outline must include a specific statement that you are (1) a woman, and (2) with AS (self-diagnosed welcome).

If you are not a woman with AS, but are interested in this group on behalf of someone else who is, please feel free to tell her about the group so that she (not you) may consider joining.
