Re: [Women Hunters] Where did everyone go???
- I left for our cabin on Tue night and hunted everyday till we came
home on Sunday. I missed a nice buck Wed morning, misjudged the
distance and shot over his back. Saw an even bigger buck three times
that week, but cant get him close enough. We went out to dinner for
Thanksgiving and my youngest son shot a nice doe that night. We are
not sure if he has beginner luck, has bowhunted 3 times and has shot
3 deer (and this is his first year with a bow) My friend told me
sometimes he'd rather be lucky than good!
The daughter had a shot at a young buck-her first opportunity-and had
to turn completely around and face the tree for the shot. It all
happend so fast she drew back and her arm caught on her safety
harness and couldnt pull back all the way. She no more got in her
stand when he started comming and her bow was still on the ground.
She was so excited! The next night we left earlier and someone was
trespassing on our property driving a atv. then they were shooting a
rifle on the property to the north of us. Which they were trespassin
there too, because it is owned by the city and they were inside city
limits shooting a firearm. I did make a call the the public works
director and he was going to send the PD to investegate. Wish I could
have gotten to them, but I wasnt about to walk into the timber
without orange or a firearm-I didnt want to get shot!
Hubby is taking the daughter out for muzzleloader season that starts
I want to be lucky now!
