        Hello Adam,
we worked with netpbm and libgd. With netpbm we prepared a set of
shell scripts and invoked them with exec() passing a few parameters
(depending on the script) and generated the output images. The biggest
        problem is managing return codes.
With libgd we had a better experience using the internal PHP functions.
There are two problems connected to libgd: 1) you need to compile it
with PHP and there isn't support for gif unless you patch it (I don't
want to talk about legal problems connected to this, you know if you
        are allowed or not)
        2) SOMETIMES it cores the webserver. It seems to be connected to
malformed images that the PHP can't read properly.

I never tested imagemagick but I know of many people using it.

I gave access to Roland to our development site. I had a modified WURFL
to show jpg images to the 6610. Roland tested and told me he could not
see the image. I also checked the logs and the image and seemed good.

We might want to configure the 6610 as "supporting" those formats and
set it to NOT support it with agents we know that don't work, like
Roland's. Otherwise we can do the opposite, set it to NOT support it as

I have meda all navigationg until the page
                          http://wurflimage.stg.digitalrum.com/dyn/default/img-test.jsp/E36F/2/?(c)=im
g-tests.jsp!il!1!0!1&(f)=1 , the page where I have to see the jpg file.
Seeing the code of this page I got the <img> src which is
                          http://images.stg.digitalrum.com/x/x.py.jpg?m=x&sz=20x20

I see it OK in Internet Explorer, but I tried to get it with a url getter
program, and I found that the mimetype returned was image/bmp.

                          This is the problem.

I tried making the same with a real Ericsson T610(which has bmp support).
The image was displayed OK, and I save it. Seeing the info about the image
saved in the phone I found the it is bmp.

                          Bye

I gave access to Roland to our development site. I had a modified WURFL
to show jpg images to the 6610. Roland tested and told me he could not
see the image. I also checked the logs and the image and seemed good.

We might want to configure the 6610 as "supporting" those formats and
set it to NOT support it with agents we know that don't work, like
Roland's. Otherwise we can do the opposite, set it to NOT support it as
default and turn this to true for the agents we can test.

Could you guys test it on the wurfl image test site?

                              Hello Robert,
are you sure about those numbers? If you see, we have the
resolution_* parameters taken from the UAProfs, but not having tested myself
I didn't know the pixels available for images.

If you are sure (you tested them) about those values, I'll add them.

                              Thanks,
                              Andrea
