      Mid registration extended until September 5, 2010

      The deadline for the mid-registration period for the 9th International Workshop on Large-Scale Integration of Wind Power into Power Systems as well as on Transmission Networks for Offshore Wind Power Plants which is to be held on Oct. 18-19, 2010 in Québec City, Canada has been extended now until September 5, 2010. You may profit from the favourable conditions a whole week more. The complete registration conditions can be found here.

      This is the program compiled for you in October:

      • October 14 - October 15, 2010: UWIG Fall Technical Workshop
        Participants of both the UWIG Fall Technical Workshop and the 9th Windintegration-Workshop are granted a 2-workshop-discount. Chose the "UWIG Member-9th Intl. Workshop Registrant"-section for registration to obtain this discount.

      • October 16, 2010: you can choose from 3 options

        1. Field Trip 2010
          Attendees will fly on Hydro Quebec's airplane to Mont-Joli. They will be transported to the Baie des Sables Wind Power Plant for a tour. Following the tour and lunch in Matane, attendees will tour ENERCON's wind turbine manufacturing plant. This is an all-day trip. The number of participants is limited. The registration for the field trip is to be done within the UWIG registration.

        2. Fourth Workshop on Best Practice in the Use of Short-term Forecasting of Wind Power
          This workshop series is to bring together utility and TSO personnel using wind power forecasts daily, and to share some tips and tricks for making the best use of them. This is flanked with the latest news from research and notes from operational forecasters.

        3. Tutorials
          Researchers give an overview of and insight into the basics and the different approaches to Wind Turbine Modeling. Details of the tutorials are supplied on the workshop website. Note that you have to register for the tutorials separately. This registration does not include the registration for workshop, conference dinner and field trip.

      • October 17, 2010: Pre-registration for the Windintegration Workshop

      • October 18 - October 19, 2010: 9th International Windintegration Workshop
        The preliminary workshop programme with all sessions in detail is available for download workshop website.

      • October 18, 2010: Conference Dinner
        This year's workshop we will take you to a traditional maple sugar house. Enjoy networking with colleagues and a typically Québécois meal at the La Cabane à Pierre. Please note that you will have to register for the workshop dinner separately.
