I ran across this and thought it was interesting.
- OUTSIDE THE GOLDEN GARTER. DIRECTLY FOLLOWING.
CALAMITY stands defeated and spent as KATIE can be heard in chorus,
singing. She starts to exit when BILL follows her out of GOLDEN
(Striding to her)
(Tearful, angry and rebellious)
Don't you come after me, Bill Hickock. I'm goin' to pull
outta Deadwood fast's I can!
(Spinning her about)
You're goin' to do nuthin' of the kind. But y're goin' to listen or
I'll knock y' senseless ... as if y' had any sense!
Let go o' me, y' danged polecat!
(Holding her firm until her struggles cease)
I've seen y' do lots of crazy things, Calamity! But it's
the first time I ever saw yuh make a blasted fool of yerself.
(Fighting temper and emotions,
she makes a move to tear herself away)
You stay here and listen! Y're a fake, Calam! Y' dress, talk, ride
an' shoot like a man, but y' think like a female!... A green-eyed,
snarlin', spittin' female! Katie beat yuh. She beat yuh twice! ...
out of y're man, and out of the respect y' used t' have `round here!
You helped her!... and I did too...
(She looks sharply at him)
She didn't shoot that glass outa y're hand ... I did. Her shot musta
gone wild. Lucky she didn't plug somebody.
Y' needed a lesson! Who are you t' tell people who t' love?
Suppose y' did scare that kid outa town ... would that git yuh
back y're lieutenant? Would it stop Katie from lovin' him, or him
her? That's female thinking'! He'd bring `er back! And they'd hate
yuh! Y'hadda lose to'night, Calam... or y'd never win again!
(She begins to sob)
G'wan ... bawl! Admit y're a female! Have y're hysterics an' get `em
over with! Y'll feel better!
But I'm so plumb crazy about him, Bill!...
I know ... I feel the same way about her...
(Looking toward him, questioningly)
Y ... y're in love with Katie?
`S funny, ain't it?
I'm sorry, Bill ... I didn't know...
(Smiles, puts his arm around her)
`S all right. It might take a little time, but I'll git
over it. You will too.
- What a great find Fredball! Kind of on tha heart-wretchin' side
*sniff* thou ain't it, least it struck a tender spot with me.
Been awhile seein' a good read around town.
And those pics you found are wonderful!! Enjoyed them very much.
Quite a find I'd say.
