This site is for wh tractors with the engine between the operator's legs AND other tractors with a "round nose" (pre-65 short frame/pre-70 Lawn Rangers - technically NOT Rideaway Juniors).
Rideaway Juniors (RJs) began in 1955 with the RJ25/RJ35 (plain nose). Later versions of the RJ hood had Wheel-Horse stamped in them. Next RJ58/RJ59 in 1958/1959. 1960 two "Suburbans" in the roundnose line with a cast iron front axle but still "mid-engine" tractors (400 and 550). 1961 was the last year for mid engine models 401 (4hp) and 551 (5.5hp) plus the introduction of the 701 (7hp) front engine tractor. 1962 saw the introduction of the Lawn Ranger, along with 502/552/702 front engine models. 1963 roundnoses included 603/633/653/753 and Lawnranger 33(R/E). 1964 was the last of the roundnoses (except Lawn Ranger) which incuded 604/654/704/854/34(R/E). Roundnose Lawnrangers continued between 1965 and 1969.

Title Picture (upper left) is a 1955 Rideaway Junior or RJ-35. This is a "round nose" and perhaps one of the most elegant, simple, and esthetic of the round nose designs. Find most other roundnose models in Photos section.
