Gilchrist overshadows other third-party candidates.

"The whole movement scares me," said Bea Tiritilli, the Green Party
candidate. "A lot of the people who are drawn to him are xenophobic.
You can build border walls to the sky, you can have border patrol
shoulder to shoulder - and people are still going to find ways to get
in. They'll dig longer tunnels. They'll hide in shipping containers."
Libertarian candidate Bruce Cohen joins Tiritilli in saying that
Gilchrist exaggerates the reach of the illegal immigration problem
and ignores the positive role immigrants play.
"They contribute to the economy - America's periods of greatest
prosperity have been America's periods of greatest immigration,"
Cohen said. "And they certainly spend a lot of money on sales taxes
and gas taxes."
Tiritilli added that illegal immigrants often pay Social Security and
income taxes that they never benefit from.
As for their own candidacies, Tiritilli emphasizes the need to get
out of Iraq and to become less dependent on oil. Cohen's list of
Libertarian policies includes smaller government, a flat-income tax
and more social liberties.
