Abraham: What's the Music?
"Take away the instruments, the players and the score, and you take away the
orchestra. Remove the various components of the canonical heritage of the
Church and you systematically dismantle the life of the church as a whole.
To be sure, there is more to the life of the Church than its canonical
heritage, just as there is more to the life of an orchestra than its
instruments, its players, and its musical score. Yet the instruments,
players, and score are constitutive of the life of the orchestra. Likewise,
to remove or to drastically change the canonical heritage once it is up and
running will be to reconstitute the Church along radically different lines."

Fathers to Feminism Oxford 1998 page 55.
