2007 will be a banner year for books on web analytics!
- Wow! I was talking to Phil Kemelor, author of "The Executive's Guide
to Web Site Measurement and Testing"
(http://www.pkwc.com/exec/bio.php) and he mentioned that he'd seen
that both Avinash Kaushik and Jason Burby were writing books on web
analytics due out early next year.
Check it out!
Jason and Shane's book:
Plus, just in case you're new to the space, there will be a "Web
Analytics for Dummies" book around the same time:
It's great to see that some of the other bright folks in our space
have decided to get into the authorship game! Having gone through the
process a few times now I wish Avinash, Jason, and Shane all the best
in completing their manuscripts and getting them to market.

- Another forthcoming book to add to Eric's list: "Search Analytics for your
Site: Conversations with your customers". I'm writing this with Rich
Wiggins. We're authoring it in a somewhat open style, and invite your
participation. Relevant URLs:

Also, we just made available an Excel spreadsheet template designed to help
people perform basic analysis on their search queries. Combined with a log
parsing PERL script (also on the site), people without access to commercial
analytics apps can now perform basic search analytics. More here:
(I should mention that a new version of the Excel template will be updated
in the next day or so, so you might want to wait until Sunday before
grabbing a copy.)
