'do you know where we can find someone to do our analytics in-house'.
This is encouraging news for the state of the UK in general, though
not necessarily for a freelance like myself...

I can think of some obvious answers such as

      i) post an advert in this group
      ii)use the WAA jobs board

      possibly

      iii) LinkedIn?

But does anyone know of any recruitment agencies who specialise in
this area, please? This is not an invitation for every agency in
Britain to spam away. I'm hoping for a more personal recommendation of
someone who really does have a clue about our area of expertise.

      Thanks

      Tim

        Hi Tim,

There are a few agencies that specialise in customer analytics (CRM, data mining, Marketing analysts etc primarily within the DM industry), but I don't know of anyone who specialises in web analytics.

However, if customer/database analytics is what you are after then I would recommend the following:

        1. Datalytics - not a recruitment agency - a group of analytic consultants. Offer a service to source and place candidates. Tend to be able to recruit quality candidates as they are analysts themselves and as such know what to look for. (www.datalytics.co.uk - speak to Stuart Broughton or Stuart Hopwood).

        2. Direct Recruitment - specialist DM recruitment firm with a division dedicated to data and analytics. (www.direct-recruitment.co.uk - speak to Susan Howstan).

These two are by far the best in my experience. Used direct-recruitment myself in the mid 90's and I am still regulalry in contact with the guys from datalytics who are ex-colleagues and great blokes.

        Hope this helps.

        Ed.

Ed, thank you very much for these leads. Yes: the DM industry seems a
promising place to start, although one of the things which amuses me is to
encounter companies who are extremely sophisticated in their off-line
analysis and mine there CRM systems like mad, but do almost nothing with
          their web data!

Thanks again. I'll pass the leads on.

            Hi

I work for TMP Worldwide who are a recruitment agency and we do
analytics of all sorts. I've not worked in recruitment for that long
but I understand that we are one of the few who offer this sort of
            service.

If you've got any specific questions or just want to know more then feel
            free to email me.

            I hope that helps.

            Regards
            Mark
