      Hi,
I have downloaded the 2.01.09.RB07 version of WEBALIZER from
http://www.medasys-lille.com/webalizer/. When I run it against my W3C
      log file I get:

      Warning: truncating oversized username
      Skipping Bad Record

The fields specified in the log are:
      date time c-ip cs-username s-ip s-port cs-method cs-uri-stem
      cs-uri-query sc-status sc-bytes cs-bytes cs(user-agent) cs(referer)

In looking at each record in the log, the cs-username field contains
only a dash (-). There is an IP address before the dash that should be
the c-ip and one after that should be the s-ip. Any ideas??

Also, is v2.01.09RB07 or v2.01-10 the latest and greatest?

      Stan

Below are the results.  I am new to this group and didn't know if the members can get attachments, but I attached my actual log file (ex020930.log in zip format as it was too big to send to this group) and  .conf file of the WEBALIZER execution.  In my testing, I have deleted the .history and .current files so that is why you will see the messages "History file not found..." and "Previous run data not found...", I believe.

            Hello

            here is error :

            -> Using logfile D:\weblogs\timehonoredtributes.com\logs\w3svc16\ex020930.log (clf)

Clf is for standard log of Unix , you can test with option (in your conf file) :
            LogType iis

but read my sample.conf in Zip distribution, there are somes new options near end of file (last lines)

            good luck

              Hello

              here is error :

              -> Using logfile D:\weblogs\timehonoredtributes.com\logs\w3svc16\ex020930.log (clf)

Clf is for standard log of Unix , you can test with option (in your conf file) :
              LogType iis

but read my sample.conf in Zip distribution, there are somes new options near end of file (last lines)

              good luck

Below are the results.  I am new to this group and didn't know if the members can get attachments, but I attached my actual log file (ex020930.log in zip format as it was too big to send to this group) and  .conf file of the WEBALIZER execution.  In my testing, I have deleted the .history and .current files so that is why you will see the messages "History file not found..." and "Previous run data not found...", I believe.

In the .conf file,  delete the # as the first character of the LOGTYPE parameter and change the 'clf' to 'iis'.

The default .conf file comes with the line like this:

                  #LogType   clf

                  Change it to this:

                  LogType    iis

It worked for me just fine!!

                  Jean

I am having the same problem as Stanley but my .conf file ignores iis
and sets the default to clf. I can't download your attachment to see
                  your sample.conf file.

                  Any ideas

                  Regards

                  Nigel
