I don't know about the debug, because I don't use it.

Try to use webalizer without config file. You should
get some files in the directory you executed the
program from. If webalizer doesn't create any file
there, then the program is broken, and you should
      reinstall it.

If it creates some files, then the program works.

If it works, then check if you have correct
permissions and ownership in all the directories.

      for "/var/www/usage/server/"

      ls -ld /var
      ls -ld /var/www
      ls -ld /var/www/usage
      ls -ld /var/www/usage/server

In my case, I execute webalizer as the "root" user, so
I only need to have read/write permissions when the
owner is "root". In my case, all the directories are
owned by "root.root" which means user root of group
      root.

      [root@griho html]# ls -ld /var
      drwxr-xr-x 22 root root 4096 oct 9 2004 /var
      [root@griho html]# ls -ld /var/www
      drwxr-xr-x 8 root root 4096 nov 12 2004 /var/www
      [root@griho html]# ls -ld /var/www/html
      drwxr-xr-x 6 root root 4096 nov 12 2004
      /var/www/html
      [root@griho html]# ls -ld /var/www/html/usatge
      drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 ago 2 04:02
      /var/www/html/usatge

"drwx______" means that it is a directory(d), and its
      owner can read(r), write(w) and execute(x).

"____r-x___" users from the same group can read and
      execute, but no write.

"_______r-x" other users can read and execute, but not
      write.

I wrote again a very long email......
