Hey everyone -
I had my first contamination on my last batch (pellicle in the glass carboy), it was only my 2nd all grain batch. I've since bought a new strainer (was using my wife's kitchen strainer) and a wine thief. I put a 6/1 water/bleach ratio in the carboy and let it sit for two weeks. I put the carboy cap and airlock in a similar bleach mixture and then ran through the dishwasher. My question is whether that is sufficient to kill whatever was alive or do I actually need to replace this equipment (I've heard that...and have trouble believing it) Thanks in advance for any help.
