This is agenda item 8A, on the City Council's Agenda for July 16, in
response to the Board's action in rescinding Fairmont as the "lead
proposal." The proposed purchase price for the 6500 Stockton Ave.
parcel (next to the school) is $1,740,000.

Early action is needed to prepare architectural plans in time to apply
for a grant in connection with a November 2008 ballot bill.

"City staff has been readily available to assist the District in the
middle school relocation process in any way possible...but can no
longer afford to continue to wait.....Action within 45 days would
allow staff to ...plan for the Library and Senior Center future..and
provide a wonderful opportunity for joint-use projects with Fairmont
      Elementary."

I would assume that the full text of the proposed resolution, full
site description and a proposed easement agreement will be put on the
City's website, later today or tomorrow.
