*School Board to hold public meeting on July 25 to develop Portola
      relocation criteria*

The West Contra Costa Unified School District invites the public to
participate in a workshop of the Board of Education on Wednesday, July
      25, 2007 beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Lovonya DeJean Middle School, 3400
Macdonald Avenue in Richmond. The purpose of the meeting is to create
and adopt the criteria that will guide the selection of a new location
for students currently attending Portola Middle School. The district
must move Portola students to another location due to geotechnical concerns.

The workshop marks a new beginning for a process that began in September
2006 which included several town hall and school board meetings. Notes
from the town hall discussions and other related information are posted
on the WCCUSD web site at
      www.wccusd.k12.ca.us/construction/Facilities/Portola/index.shtml
      <http://www.wccusd.k12.ca.us/construction/Facilities/Portola/index.shtml>.

The district will continue to update this site with further information
on the Portola relocation issue as it becomes available.
