Coupled with another apples to apples report from Center for American Progress http://www.americanprogress.org/issues/2011/01/educational_productivity/report.html , we as taxpayers and parents have a duty to ask whether our district spends efficiently.
A number of recommendations were develop in a drive-by performance review about 5 years ago http://www.wccusd.net/22771062133648843/lib/22771062133648843/MGTFinal-WCCUSD.pdf . Efficiency needs to become part of district culture in order to spark real improvement. Weaving together insights from these sources and others will give us a good start.
