Obama Denounces AIG But Allows Eli Broad To Write Presidential Education Agenda
Letter To San Francisco ChronicleMarch 20, 2009
What irony that Obama denounces AIG while allowing Eli Broad to write the Presidential education agenda.   Bill Gates’ ex-associate, Tom Vander  Ark , wrote “Eli Finally Won” after Obama’s  St. Louis  speech on education.   Broad has been one of AIG’s major  US  investors, having sold his own company, SunAmerica, to AIG for $18 billion.  Googling “Eli Broad AIG” reveals Forbes.Com and CNBC videos of Broad explaining his role in choosing AIG CEOs, claiming that AIG is a ‘solid property’ internationally, and strongly supporting the bailout.
Broad promotes a “business model” for US schools at the very same time that AIG proves the failure of the business model.  Broad’s destructive policies, favoring “merit” pay based on standardized test scores, charter schools, breaking union protections and private sub-contracting, were implemented in New Orlean’s in the wake of Katrina.  The city’s public schools were essentially abolished.  His minions have operated the  Oakland   School District  since 2003, doubling the District’s debt to the state, closing school after school, and sowing chaos.  The scandal over bonuses to AIG executives pales in comparison to the prospect of the President permitting AIG’s chief pirate to plan the  destruction of public education and its looting along the way.
