WVN ALERT: Wayland 375th anniversary events
- SATURDAY Aug. 10, 7:30 p.m., Vokes Theatre. The Rowan Brothers in a concert of acoustic-roots Americana. Chris and Lorin are Wayland natives. Special guest: Maddie Sifantus, who grew up in Wayland with Chris and Lorin and still lives here. Maddie is the founder of the Golden Tones elder chorus. $20. For tickets:

WEDNESDAY Aug. 14, 7 p.m. Dirty Water Jazz Band. Part of the COA summer outdoor concert series on the second Wednesday of the month. Some seating is available but the COA recommends bringing a lawn chair for the one-hour concert. Transportation available by calling the COA office (508-358-2990). The concert will be in the courtyard at the Town Building. In case of rain, the concert will be moved indoors to the Large Hearing Room. Series made possible by a grant from the Friends of the Wayland COA.
THURSDAY, FRIDAY, SATURDAY Aug. 22-24, Vokes Theatre. "Fox on the Fairway." The Post Road Playmakers will present a fast-paced comedy about a raucous rivalry between two screwball country clubs that drives members into love on the links, sauciness in the sand traps, and frolic on the fairway, while scheming and conniving to win the top prize. Proceeds will benefit Parmenter Community Health Care Center.
