WVN ALERT: Chance to comment on playground, new fields
- Dear Wayland Voter,

-- The Planning Board will visit the playground near the intersection of Routes 30 and 27 at 7 a.m. Monday May 23.
-- Public forum including the playground vendor, 5:30 p.m. Wednesday May 25, selectmen's meeting room, Town Building.
-- Public hearing on the proposed playing fields sponsored by the Recreation Commission, 7:30 p.m. Wednesday May 25, Senior Center, Town Building. Town Meeting approved funding for feasibility studies, including a possible leaching field to serve homes near Dudley Pond.
-- Continuation of the Hannah Williams site plan approval hearing by the Planning Board, 7:30 p.m., Town Building, Tuesday May 31. Department of Public Works is the applicant.
The Planning Board wants to evaluate all features on the site. More nearby residents are now involved. Some residents said they were unaware of the plan until very recently.
-- Parking, possibly preserving existing park grass north of the playground. Some residents favor adding to rather than completely relocating the parking area.
-- Site plan flow.
-- Preserving trees to provide shade.
-- Location and options for age-appropriate play structures.
