WVN ALERT: Wastewater Commission
- The Wastewater Management District Commission, which manages the town's wastewater plant serving over 30 business, residential and municipal customers along the Route 20 corridor, meets tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Town Building.
The commissioners are first learning details of negotiations with the plant's largest customer, the Town Center developer, by other parties that could add considerable costs and responsibilities at a time when they are working to dissolve the Commission and transfer their role to the Board of Public Works.

Among the agenda items to be discussed are terms of a new side legal agreement with the developer, Twenty Wayland, concerning the construction of the new plant. On Feb. 7 the selectmen voted and signed land swap documents for locating the new plant. Apparently parties representing the town, but not including the Commission, have been negotiating terms with the developer for some time. Twenty Wayland reportedly wants the town to pick up some other costs.
The meeting agenda includes discussion of a disagreement with the developer about fees, the developer's request for a refund, plant construction schedule, status of the $5 million loan for the new plant, draft water conservation regulations, its warrant article for Town Meeting to dissolve the Commission, and revisiting its Fiscal 2012 budget.
