      Dear Wayland Voter,

The town clerk has issued a clarification to avoid
misunderstanding about entering a write-in vote on the April 8
      town election ballot:

"All write-in votes should include the correct name and address
of the candidates. If the voter omits the candidate's address or
makes a mistake in the name or address, the vote WILL be
counted if the intent of the voter can reasonably be determined.
Please fill-in the the oval next to the write-in line showing the
person for whom you are voting. This allows us to complete the
count and determine the results quicker."

Town Clerk Lois Toombs issued the clarification after possibly
confusing information appeared in the Wayland Town Crier.

      The write-in candidates are:

      SCHOOL COMMITTEE

Jeffrey S. Baron, 153 Woodridge Rd.

      BOARD OF ASSESSORS

      Bruce Cummings, 6 Eden Rd.

John Knapp, 16 Fox Meadow Lane

      BOARD OF HEALTH

      Simone Mordas, 9 Brewster Rd.

Polls are open at the Middle School gym and the Town Building
      from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m.

There are no candidates for one open position on the Housing
authority and one on the Water Commission.
