Comet C/2009 P1 Garradd -- Brightest comet in the Sky!
- The last time I imaged this comet -- actually, the last time I imaged anything in the sky, was way back on June 1st. At that time the comet was a tiny blob at magnitude 11.1. Tonight it was magnitude 8.2 The magnitude difference of 2.9 corresponds to a brightness difference of 14.5. It is way brighter now, and is in fact observable in moderate-sized scopes and even binoculars.
I have images from my cooled CCD camera and astrograph and even an image from my Canon 20D and 50 mm lens.
