      START/FINISH: Vancouver Lake Regional Park; 6801 NW Lower River Road;
      Vancouver, Washington.
      TIMES: Start any time between 8am and 1pm; Finish by 4pm
      DISTANCE and RATING: 11km (6.8 miles) or 5km (3.1 miles), Rated 1.
      TRAIL DESCRIPTION: Walk on a paved path along rural country roads and
      through Vancouver Lake and Frenchman's Bar Regional Parks. OK for
      strollers and wheelchairs. Observe scenic views of the surrounding
      rural area, Vancouver Lake, Columbia River, Flushing Channel and distant
      mountains. See bountiful bird life, including, but not limited to Canada
      geese, herons, and sandhill cranes
      HATPIN: "B" awards and prior events' hatpins will be available.
      FEES: AVA Credit Only is $2. No refunds. Non-credit walkers are welcome
      to participate at no charge. All must register, carry, and return a
      start card.
      COMFORT: Water at start/finish and checkpoint. Restrooms available a
      short distance into route and at checkpoint. Pets are permitted but not
      in buildings. Owners are responsible for leash and clean up laws.
      ELIGIBILITY: This event is sanctioned by the American Volkssport
      Association, a member of the International Federation of Popular Sports
      (IVV), and counts toward the acquisition of IVV achievement awards.
      Everyone is welcome to participate. Children under 12 years of age must
      be accompanied by an adult.
      NEW WALKERS: This event is part of the AVA Achievement Awards Program.
      Participants can earn event and/or distance credits, then redeem
      completed books for a certificate, patch, and hatpin after certain
      milestones are achieved. Special New Walker Packets, including discount
      coupons at a bargain price, will be available at the registration
      table.
      DISCLAIMER: Although every effort will be made to make this a safe and
      enjoyable event, the sponsors are not liable for accidents, injuries,
      thefts and other material damages. By registering for this event, each
      participant agrees to accept the guidelines for Volkssport events
      published by the American Volkssport Association (AVA) and to observe
      the principles of good sportsmanship. This event will be held regardless
      of weather; adverse weather may increase the rating. All Weather
      Walkers collects used eyeglasses for the Columbia Crest Lions' eyesight
      program, and used cellular phones and chargers for the local womens'
      crisis shelter. Bring your glasses (cases also appreciated) and cellular
      phones & chargers that you no longer use. (Phones are reprogrammed.)

      DIRECTIONS: From I-5 take 4th Plain Blvd (Exit #1D) west. Continue
      west on 4th Plain Blvd until road bears right (north) and becomes Lower
      River Rd. Proceed north to Vancouver Lake Regional Park. As road
      curves west (left), continue north (straight) to park entrance. Right
      at entrance. Parking is free this time of year. Start Point is at north
      end of park under covered shelter.
