      LOCATION: Hudson’s Bay High School, 1601 E. McLoughlin Blvd.,
      Vancouver, WA, 98663.
      Join us for the 15th annual Vancouver Discovery Walk Festival. This
      year’s festival includes a single day of walks, bikes, and swims
      exploring the historic and scenic areas of Vancouver, USA.
      Enjoy one or more of our events. Complete a walk, bike, and a swim for a
      Triathlon ribbon.
      Walks: 5 km (3.1 mile) and 10 km (6.2 miles) rated easy 1+ on sidewalks
      and greenway paths. The routes include Fort Vancouver National Historic
      Monument and portions of Officers’ Row. The 10K route also passes
      through downtown Vancouver and enjoys the Renaissance Trail along the
      Columbia River. The routes are navigable by strollers. Wheelchairs may
      encounter uncut curbs. Pets are permitted but NOT in buildings. Owners
      are responsible for leash and cleanup laws
      Bikes: 15 km, 25 km, 50 km. Rated easy 1+. These routes are similar to
      previous years and pass through the historic area and downtown Vancouver
      before heading west to Vancouver Lake.
      Swims: Two 300 meter swims at Propstra Aquatic Center, with shuttle
      provided.
      START TIMES: Walks: 8 am – 12 pm. Bikes: 9 am – 12 pm. Swims: 1 pm –
      3:30 pm.
      FINISH TIMES: Walks: 3:00 pm. Bikes and Swims: 4 pm.
      Registration: There is no pre-registration. Register at the Hudson’s
      Bay High School Commons, 8 am – 12 pm. Anyone may participate for free
      (no award or IVV credit). Medal award $10 for each event. IVV Credit
      Only $3 per event. Only cash or checks are accepted, no credit/debit
      cards. All walkers must register and sign a liability waiver. Children
      age 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. There are no refunds.
      MISCELLANEOUS: Water and restrooms at start/finish and checkpoint(s).
      These events are sanctioned by the American Volkssport Association
      (AVA) and walkers are eligible for IVV Achievement Awards. The sponsors
      are not liable for accidents, thefts and/or material damage. Reasonable
      effort will be made by the sponsors to make this a safe, enjoyable and
      memorable event
      DIRECTIONS: Traveling North on Interstate 5: Take Exit 1C - Mill Plain
      Blvd. Turn RIGHT onto E. Mill Plain Blvd. Continue to follow E Mill
      Plain Blvd. for one block. Turn LEFT onto Fort Vancouver Way. Continue
      to E. McLoughlin Blvd. Turn RIGHT onto E McLoughlin Blvd. Just past the
      track, turn right into the access road to the school parking lot. Follow
      signs to Registration/Start area in the Commons.
      Traveling South on Interstate 5: Take Exit 1C - Mill Plain Blvd. exit.
      Turn LEFT onto E. Mill Plain Blvd. Proceed as above.

      Description: This is our annual Easter event which begins at the
      University of Washington and takes walkers through the Arboretum and
      across Foster Island. The late date for Easter should mean more "in
      bloom" in the Arboretum. The award is a patch in our continuing series
      of Arboretum scenes. Route is not suitable for small strollers or
      wheelchairs. Dogs not allowed on Foster Island but an alternate route is
      available. Parking at the E-5 lot will involve a charge of $3 for those
      who begin before noon; after noon parking is free.
