      LOCATION: Esther Short Park, 8th & Columbia, Vancouver WA

      DISTANCE: 10 km (6.2 miles), 5 km (3.1 miles)
      TRAIL: (1+) Walk on sidewalks with one gradual hill, past historic
      sites; Ft. Vancouver and museum, Officers’ Row homes, Clark County
      Museum, St. James Church, Pearson Air Field, and Historical Air Museum,
      and the Northwest’s oldest apple tree. Suitable for strollers. Shorter
      trail suitable for wheelchairs.
      AWARD: "B" awards are $3.00. Credit only is $2.00. Free walkers are
      welcome but must register, carry, andreturn a start card.
      HATPIN: "B" pins are $2.50.
      PRE-REGISTRATION: None.
      MISCELLANEOUS: Water, restrooms, and refreshments at start/finish and
      checkpoint(s). Pets are permitted but NOT in building(s). Owners are

      three blocks to Columbia. 
      I-5 Southbound: Exit #1-C (Mill Plain West) and drive five blocks on
      15th St to Columbia. LEFT to 8th St. RIGHT to park. USE ON STREET
      PARKING.
      NOTICE: The City of Vancouver will be soliciting a voluntary
      contribution of $2.00 or two cans of food for a person entering the Ft.
      Vancouver Reserve area on the 4th of July. The walk routes will pass
      through the Reserve. Although a contribution is not mandatory, some
      walkers may want to make either a monetary or can goods donation. Those
      wishing to donate canned food may put it in a box that will be stationed
      at the Start/Finish of the walk in Esther Short Park so they will not
      have to carry the cans with them on the walk.

      JULY 14 (SATURDAY) YMCA WALK YAKIMA WA
      SANCTION NO: NW01/074
      SPONSORS: Yakima Valley Sun Striders Volkssport Club

      LOCATION: Yakima YMCA, 5 North Naches Ave , Yakima WA
      START TIME: 7:00 am - 12:00 noon
      FINISH TIME: 4:00 pm
      DISTANCE: 10 km (6.2 miles)
      TRAIL: (1) Walk on sidewalk and paved trail to Sarge Hubbard Park, a
      natural park along the Yakima River. Yakima Greenway continues through
      the arboretum and newly developed wetland area. Alternate route through
      wetland available for strollers and wheelchairs.
      AWARD: A 4" embroidered patch of Yakima County’s orchards and vineyards
      is $5.00 pre-registered and $6.00 day of event. Credit only is $2.00.
      Free walkers are welcome but must register, carry, and return a start
      card.
      HATPIN: Hatpins are $2.50.
      PRE-REGISTRATION: Must be postmarked by July 9th. Make check payable

      JULY 14-15 MOULTON FALLS REGIONAL PARK, YACOLT WA

      LOCATION: Moulton Falls Regional Park, Day Use Area Yacolt WA
      START TIME: 8:00 am – 1:00 pm
      FINISH TIME: 4:00 pm 
      DISTANCE: 10 km (6.2 miles) Shorter distance available
      TRAIL: (1+) Walk out and back on part of the new Bells Mountain Trail,
      as ADA accessible path developed for DNR by the Chinook Trail
      Association. Surfaces include tightly packed gravel and asphalt. There
      is one short, steep slope from the parking lot to the trailhead.
      Suitable for strollers and wheelchairs.
      AWARD: Credit only is $2. "B" awards from prior events will be
      available. Free walkers are welcome but must register, carry, and return
      a start card.
      HATPIN: None featured. "B" awards and hatpins will be available.
      PRE-REGISTRATION: None
      MISCELLANEOUS: Water and restrooms available at registration area and
      checkpoint. Pets allowed on short leash with proper clean-up.

      South, take Exit #9, SR-502/NE 179th St/Battle Ground. From the north,
      turn left at end of ramp onto NE 179th St, then left onto SR-502 East
      (NE 10th Av). Follow from Ü below. From the south, go straight at light
      at end of ramp onto SR-502 (NE 10th Av). Ü Right on NE 219th St
      (continuing on SR-502). Turn left onto SR-503 North (Amboy/Yacolt) for
      6+ miles. Right on Rock Creek Road (changes to NE Lucia Falls Road) for
      8 miles to the park entrance. All times and distances are estimated.

      JULY 14-15 BATTLE GROUND LAKE STATE PARK, BATTLE GROUND WA

      LOCATION: Battle Ground Lake State Park, Day Use Area, Battle Ground WA
      START TIME: 8:00 am – 12:00 noon
      FINISH TIME: 3:00 pm
      DISTANCE: 10 km (6.2 miles) Shorter distance available
      TRAIL: (2+) Walk the rim of Battle Ground Lake on forest loop paths of
      natural surfaces. Some slight hills and unsteady footing on the horse
      trails. Shorter distance available. Not suitable for strollers or
      wheelchairs. 
      AWARD: Credit only is $2. "B" awards from prior events will be
      available. Free walkers are welcome but must
      register, carry, and return a start card.
      HATPIN: A thimbleberry hatpin for $1. "B" awards and hatpins, and items
      from the museum will be available for sale.
      PRE-REGISTRATION: None
      MISCELLANEOUS: Water and restrooms at registration only. Pets allowed on
      short leash with proper clean-up.

      JULY 19 (THURSDAY) BLUEBERRY FARM WALK BELLEVUE WA

      TRAIL: (2) Walk on sidewalks, boardwalk, gravel, and woodchip trails in
      and around the "big swamp" just north of I-90 in Bellevue and along Lake
      Washington. Strollers will have difficulty. Not suitable for
      wheelchairs.
      AWARD: Credit only is $2.00. Free walkers are welcome but must register,
      carry, and return a start card.
      HATPIN: NW Striders club pins are $2.50.
      PRE-REGISTRATION: None.
      MISCELLANEOUS: Water and restrooms at start/finish and 11 km trail
      control point. Pets are permitted but NOT in building(s). Owners are
