      to the water front and Capitol Lake.

      Here's the event that you look forward to all year long--that walk which
      gets you in the mood for the holidays! Circle December 3rd on your
      calendar, as that is when the Capitol Volkssport Club invites you to the
      annual Holiday Walk, which will start at the Christmas tree in the
      beautifully renovated Capitol Building. You will go through the Capitol
      Campus, downtown past the stores all decorated for the holidays, by the
      waterfront, and around Capitol Lake. Hot apple cider and cookies will
      be available at the checkpoint.
      Driving Directions: From I-5 (North-bound or South-bound) take exit
      105. Follow signs to Capitol Campus. Start is at the North Entrance to
      the State Capitol Building. Finish is at the Visitors' Center. Ample
      free parking available at the Visitors' Center, on campus, and on city
      streets.
      WA Challenge: Thurston Co, Downtown, Parks
      Miscellaneous: BRING A FLASHLIGHT. Fido is welcome, but must obey leash
      laws. Fido's master must follow the cleanup laws. Fido will need to
      wait patiently outside the buildings. Trail is stroller-friendly.
      Hat Pins: Candy cane ornament pin to attach to last year's Christmas
      tree patch is $3.00. There will be patches available for $3.00 for

      NYE: (11km) Walk on road shoulders (largely downhill) to Alki
      waterfront, along waterfront, up hill 3/4 km to viewpoint of Seattle
      skyline across Elliot Bay. (5km) Walk on sidewalks on the hilltop. "On a
      clear night, you can see forever--or at least First Hill.” Not suitable
      for strollers or wheelchairs.
      NYD: (10km) Walk on sidewalks on the West Seattle hilltop. There are
      some short hills with great views of Seattle and Puget Sound. Not
      suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
      AWARD: NYE/NYD: Award is $7.00 per segment pre-registered and $8.00 day
      of event. 30 AVAILABLE. NO REORDERS. Credit only is $3.00 Free
      participants are welcome but all must carry and return a start card.

        and volunteers reenact an 1800’s Victorian Christmas. The following Fort
        activities will be available between 10am and 3pm: Cooking, making Sugar
        Plums, Madrigal Music, 1840’s games, Wreath making, etc. Entrance to the
        Fort costs $3 per person or $5 per family. Entrance is free for those
