      Event description: Walk in a town and country setting using the Yelm-
      Tenino Trail. The walk will also include portions of the city of Yelm
      as well as the Cochrane Memorial Park with its gravel paths and many
      ponds.
      Award and fees: Credit only is $2. A hiker hatpin will be available
      for $3. No refunds. Free walkers are welcome, but must register,
      carry and return a start card.
      Directions: From I-5 North or Southbound, Exit 111 Marvin Rd.
      Southbound turn left, Northbound turn right (south) onto Hwy 510 to
      Yelm. At the intersection of Hwy 510 and Hwy 507 (light), turn right
      onto Hwy 507. Go one block to Mosman (Yelm Park) and turn left to
      parking.

      LOCATION: Colegate Park, Grandview Dr. W, University Place, WA
      START TIME: 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
      FINISH TIME: 4:00 p.m.
      DISTANCE: 10 km (6.2 miles) 5 km (3.1 miles)
      TRAIL: Rate 1+. Walk on sidewalks, gravel road shoulders, and
      grass. The route includes the Curran Apple Orchard, lovely views of
      the Sound. Strollers and wheelchairs may have difficulty.
      Walkers cannot bring apples to the orchard squeeze. Bring a bag or
      container. Pick your apples from the orchard and squeeze them in
      the presses. Enjoy your cider. Donations are requested for the
      maintenance of the orchard.
      This is an annual event. some of the activities may include the
      Master Gardener, the appearance of Johnny Appleseed, Audubon Society
      displays, and performance of a barber shop quartet.
      A to Z : For the "A to Z" program, use your "U" slot for University
      Place..

      TRAIL
      Rating (4+) 10K walkIcicle Ridge walk 4+ rating. This is a mountain
      trail up the Icicle Ridge. You will climb about 1800 feet. You will
      be in the mountains and have great views of the valley of Leavenworth
      and Tumwater Canyon. You may be lucky enough to see wildlife, wild
      flowers, autumn leaves and just enjoy the beautiful nature
      surroundings.
      DIRECTIONS FOR BOTH WALKS
      From Seattle: I-5 North to Everett, Hwy 2 to Leavenworth, WA. Turn
      right at gas station( just out of Tumwater Canyon) onto Icicle Rd.
      Follow signs to Salmon Festival and volkssport. From east: Spokane,
      Hwy 2 through Waterville, E. Wenatchee to Leavenworth. Go through
      town, turn left at gas station, onto Icicle Rd. Follow signs to
      Salmon Festive and volkssport
      AWARD
      Credit only $2.00, free walkers are welcome but must register, carry
      and return a start card. 'B' awards for $3.00 (this includes credit)
      and 'B' hatpins for $1.00 will be available. Special Pin $3.00.

      START/FINISH: Lewisville Regional Park, 26411 NW Lewisville Hwy. (SR-
      503), Central Park Shelter.
      TIMES: Start any time between 8am and 1pm; Finish by 4pm.
      DISTANCE and RATING: 10km (6.2 miles) or 5km (3.1 miles, Rated 2+.
      TRAIL DESCRIPTION: Lewisville Park is heavily forested and lies along
      the East Fork of the Lewis River in north Clark County. The park's
      154 acres were originally developed by the WPA and the park is on the
      National Register of Historic Places. Surfaces include pavement,
      natural and crushed rock paths.
      HATPIN: A unique, 3-dimensional shoe zipper pull, $2.50. Only 100
      available, no reorders.
      COMFORT: Water and restrooms available at registration area and
      elsewhere in the park. Pets allowed on short leash with proper clean-
      up.
      FEES: AVA Credit Only is $2. No refunds. Non-credit walkers are
      welcome to participate at no charge. All must register, carry, and
      return a start card.
      ELIGIBILITY: This event is sanctioned by the American Volkssport
      Association, part of the International Federation of Popular Sports
      (IVV), and counts toward the acquisition of IVV achievement awards.
      Everyone is welcome to participate.
      Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
      NEW WALKERS: This event is part of the AVA Achievement Awards
      Program. Participants can earn event and/or distance credits, then
      redeem completed books for a certificate, patch, and hatpin after
      certain milestones are achieved. Special New Walker Packets,
      including discount coupons at a bargain price, will be available at
      the registration table.
      DISCLAIMER: Although every effort will be made to make this a safe,
      enjoyable event, the sponsors are not liable for accidents, injuries,
      thefts and other material damages. By registering for this event,
      each participant agrees to accept the guidelines for Volkssport
      events published by the American Volkssport Association (AVA) and to
      observe the principles of good sportsmanship. This event will be held
      regardless of weather; adverse weather may increase the rating.
      DIRECTIONS: From I-5 North or South, take Exit #9, SR-502/NE 179th
      St./Battle Ground. From the north, turn left (east) at end of ramp
      onto NE 179th St, then left (north) onto SR-502 East (NE 10th Av).
      From the south, go straight at light at end of ramp onto SR-502 (NE
      10th Av). Right on NE 219th St (continuing on SR-502). Turn left onto
      SR-503 North
      (Amboy/Yacolt) – a lighted intersection. Turn left (north) and drive
      about 2 miles to Lewisville Park entrance on the right. Drive into
      park, straight ahead on the main road until reaching the Central Park
      shelter on the right.
