      240-895-4990 From I-495/I-95: Take EXIT 7A, Route 5 South, towards Waldorf.
      Follow Route 5/Route 301 south to just before Waldorf (approx. 11.8 miles).
      Turn LEFT to stay on Route 5 when Routes 5 and 301 split. In another 3.1
      miles, turn LEFT again onto Leonardtown Rd. to stay on Rt. 5. After 17.5
      miles, turn RIGHT at the WAWA store to stay on Rt. 5. Proceed another 28
      miles and then follow signs for the Visitor's Center. After passing St.
      Mary's College on the left, you will turn RIGHT onto Rosecroft Rd. and then
      another RIGHT onto Hogaboom Lane to the Visitor's Center. Ask the staff in
      Visitor's Center for the walk box. Employees of the Visitor's Center are not
      familiar with Volkssporting or the registration procedures. Each walker must
      register at the start. Walkers must pay $10.00 adults, $8.00 students and
      over 60 (also a reduced price for kids) for the entrance fee for Historic
      St. Mary's City to participate in and complete the walk. On Sundays in the
      spring and fall, the living history exhibits are closed while the Visitor
      Center, Exhibit Hall, The Shop at Farthing's Ordinary, and museum grounds
      remain open and there is a reduced admission fee of $2 for adults and $1 for
      children over 6 years.

      Event Description: Tuesday-Sunday 10am - 5pm. Closed Mondays all year.
      Closed Tuesdays in the summer. You should call ahead to confirm if SMC is
      open. Trail is on natural paths along the St. Mary's River and through the
      historic area of Maryland's first capital. See the reconstructed State House
      of 1676, archaeological excavations and the Godiah Spray Tobacco Plantation,
      part of an 800-acre outdoor living history museum. At the waterfront, see
      the replica of the Maryland Dove, a square-rigged ship, which along with the
      Ark, brought the first settlers and supplies from England. A gift shop and
      picnic area (bring along a picnic lunch) are on the grounds. Half the walk
      is through the woods. Bring insect repellant during the buggy months. FEE
      FOR IVV CREDIT OR NON-IVV CREDIT IS $3.00. Children 12 and under (IVV-Credit
      included) walk for free courtesy of Freestate Happy Wanderers.
