[CO] Falcon Wanderers Christmas Walk
- FALCON WANDERERS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS WALK IN OLD COLORADO CITY
YOU ARE PLANNING TO COME, RIGHT?
A reminder that this Saturday, December 1, the Falcon Wanderers will be
hosting their annual Christmas walk in Old Colorado City (the west side
of Colorado Springs). Start time is 8:30-12:30, finish by 3:30 p.m.
Start/finish is Central Christian Church, 2002 W. Pikes Peak Avenue.
Trails are 6K and 10K in length and will be on the paved Midland Trail
as well as the sidewalks along West Colorado Avenue. Strollers can
complete the course but wheelchairs cannot due to deteriorated sidewalks
and lack of curb cuts.
Directions: From I-25, take exit 141 (Highway 24 West) and proceed
west. At 21st Street turn right (north), go to Pikes Peak Avenue and
turn right (east) for one block. Parking is available in the lot across
the street (south) from the church.
AVA Special Programs: America's Bakeries, Carnegie Libraries, Honoring
Law Enforcement, Murals, Walking America's Trails, States/Capitals,
Walking the USA, A-Z and Strolling Somewhere Over the Rainbow.
Fees for this event have been reduced to encourage donations of
non-perishable food items or cash, which will be given to the Billie
Spielman Center for use in making holiday food baskets for the less
fortunate in the community. Christmas goodies to go along with the hot
cider and hot chocolate that will be available are also welcome.
Old Colorado City is gaily decorated for the season, so join us for the
walk and then enjoy a visit to some of the shops in the area.
