Have a big Heart for carriage horses, come out and speak up for them.
"Love" is not having to wear Blinders" that prevents them from having
full sight of their surroundings, "Love is not having to wear ear
plugs" so they can't ever hear properly and dangerous to their well
being in city traffic", "Love is not having to carry a 600 lb.
carriage" on your back all day, "Love is not having to wear a diaper
sack" behind you thus never getting the chance to walk away from your
own waste", "Love is not ever having a chance to "turn out" to run
free and have free will.
We will hand out flyers and hold signs to educate tourists and public
about the cruel horse-drawn carriage industry. After working more
then nine hour plus days, the horses return to closet size stalls
where they are tied up and have no room to lay down and rest. The
average life of a carriage horse in NYC is four years.
A recent Undercover investigation by Animals Angels showed appalling,
dirty and unsafe living conditions in the horse stables. West Side
Livery stable on 37th St., between 9th and 10th Avenue was found to
be the worst of the five stables.
