New Visitacion Valley Branch Library
Inspired by the Parthenon in Rome, the new 8,700 square foot public library will create a grand civic presence in this southern most neighborhood. Learn how the architect combined classic architecture with modern programmatic library needs. Currently under construction, the new library features distinct adult, children, and teen spaces; outdoor courtyards; public art; a program room with after hours community access; and an impressive center main reading room.
Tour conducted by DPW's Andy Maloney (Bureau of Architecture) and Brian Wong (Bureau of Comstruction Management).
No transportation provided; participants encouraged to take MUNI.
Participants must have hard sole shoes and no open toe sandals. Let us know if you need a hardhat provided.
