Re: Janome New Home 270 Electrical

That two socket plug is very common and very easy to replace. You can get one on Ebay or from a sewing machine repair shop for about 8 bucks.

> Hello, I am new to this group and was happy to find it! I just acquired a vintage Janome New Home 270. It is beautiful (lovely two-tone green in great cosmetic condition) and can sew a nice stitch after I oiled everything with tri-flow oil. It sounds wonderful, too. The case was really deteriorated, so I am throwing it out (it did a nice job protecting the machine).

The plug in for the motor will not securely hold the plug for the motor - the plug pops out. I can sew only by holding the plug into the plug in. I tried putting the plug into the socket for the light and the motor ran continuously. Does anyone know what is the best replacement for this or a solution? The foot motor controller seems to work fine. All the wiring looks good and nothing is fraying. I would like to keep all as is and get the socket to work, but if I have to replace the foot controller unit etc. I will.
