      This is probably a problem in the GTK library with the Polish keyboard
      setup. Vim expects CTRL-6 to result in 0x1e. Perhaps you also need to
      keep Shift pressed?

      I can't reproduce it here (FreeBSD). If you can do some debugging, the
      relevant function is key_press_event() in gui_gtk_x11.c
