termcap on windows
I'm still trying to get vim working when logging from UNIX
to a windows telnet server. I found that the windows telnet
server respects the entry
(defaults to %SystemRoot%\system32\termcap)
When I open a windows console vim on a UNIX-windows telnet
session, the term defaults to win32, but I get no highlighting.
None of the builtin terms (I tried all of them) works.
So I tried to put termcap entries for screen and the linux
console into %SystemRoot%\system32\termcap and set TERM to
either "screen" or "linux" before starting vim. Still vim
defaults to term=win32. When I try then to 'set term=linux'
vim complains, because it apparently doesn't respect the
Can I compile vim on windows with termcap support (and
preferably using the only the windows development environment
and NOT stuff like cygwin)?
I'd be really happy to get this working!
