One thing that will help a little is
To get what you really want will take some work. If you start with one
of the MRU scripts, it should be possible to add a command so that
<Alt-Left> and <Alt-Right> move you along the list, without changing the
list. If that seems too daunting to do yourself, you might try asking
the author(s) to implement this feature.
