      '%', like many characters/keys, has many uses and meanings depending on
      context. If you do

      :help %<tab>

      Where tab means hit tab, and assuming you have wildmode set to 'full'
      and wildchar set to tab, you'll see a list of possible matches for help
      related to '%". The fifth one:

      :help :_%

      Gives help on what a bare '%' means in ex mode.
