On Windows 2000 with gvim 5.7 is it best to have my gvimrc in the vim folder instead of the vim57 folder ie does it look in the vim before looking in the vim57 folder?
I did observe that the current/default actually points it to an example that's in the vim57 folder. Or at least I guess so anyway; I guess it is currently using that/the example config file is that correct?
Would there be any reason for me to use both the gvim 5.7 and the vim 5.7?
So far I can accomplish basic editing. But I want to run script on text file to modify the text file and temporarily unable to accomplish until I learn how to do so. Can anyone help me on this or point me to resource where I can learn it?
I've been learning Perl and I mastered www.notetab.com "clip" language, a scripting/macro language. Now I want to try my hand at the Vim editor.
Thanks. Regards. Alan.
