      If you know in advance how many lines will be added/modified then you
      can use the 'report' option:

      :let report_save = &report
      :set report=9999
      :%s/foo/bar/g
      :append
      line1
      line2
      ...
      line10
      .
      :let &report = report_save

      :help report
