21676Re: network io
- Oct 1, 2001It looks like it's the shell thing, has to do with the ? sign.
Correct escaping fixes it.
Here is what I get:
vim: No match.
(did not even go to the network)
:!wget http://vim.sourceforge.net/scripts/download.php?src_id=210 -O
wget: No match.
shell returned 1
Error detected while processing function
Can't open file /tmp/v996585/0
(went to the network but sent something wrong to wget)
:!wget http://vim.sourceforge.net/scripts/download.php\?src_id=210 -O /tmp/v996689/0
Connecting to vim.sourceforge.net:80... connected!
Now we get the file. Looks like wget needs ? escaped, may be it depends on
the shell vim uses to launch wget.
