Kevin, I have had problems editing MPEG4 in iMovie 06-09. I ll give it a go and see if I can bring files in directly as DV files and eliminate Steamclip step.

Kevin, I have had problems editing MPEG4 in iMovie 06-09. I'll give it a go and see if I can bring files in directly as DV files and eliminate Steamclip step. DV editing works much better, even when I had a Sony Cybershot that captured in muxed format.

      John,
I've a feeling that iMovie imported it for editing in MPEG4 format
instead of DV. I've once written about how iMovie's MPEG4 video
editing format was bullshit, because it took very long to import and
quality was lacking (e.g. titles looked bad). My short writeup at
      http://theory. isthereason. com/?p=705

Bottomline: Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's way better to have
iMovie import/transcode into DV format to keep everything clean.
