The President and Secretary for the Department of Veterans Affairs is not addressing the high unemployment rate for Veterans - higher than the general population.

Appealed disability claims to the Board of Veterans Appeals are still backlogged over two years! The Board and the Regional Directors of the Dept. and/or the Secretary have not required that actions recommended to Congress be implemented. They could have a law clerk, for example, match up submitted documents in su;pport of claims with copies in the Veteran's VA Claim's file, i.e specific medical records or correspondence, etc. and have it confirmed so the Administrative Judge isn't spending hours doing "busy" work on each case rather than focusing on making a decision. If there are any discrepancies the law clerk could have them resolved prior to the Administrative Judge finally reviwing the case/appeal. A group of Judges who do nothing but resolve such discrepancies could assist the law clerks and Veteran/Veteran's Representative.

Ask your Congressman(Representative) and the Secretary for the Department of Veterans Affairs to act on the above issues with some urgency - in the same manner they expected us to carry out oders and complete missions while we were on active duty.

      Veteran
