On 5th Oct 2006, Ignatius Chan (not his real name) received the news - the kind we think only befalls other people. A good-natured man for whom cigarettes and drink never held any attraction, he enjoyed an enviable life – a good career in the IT industry, a loving wife and two adorable young daughters.
That fateful Thursday, Chan’s world fell apart when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Often referred to as a silent killer, this form of the disease rarely shows early symptoms – by the time it was detected, the cancer had already spread throughout his body. Surgery was impossible.

His wife recalls how quickly he deteriorated. Within a year, at the prime age of 41, Ignatius Chan passed away.

Dear friends, while Ignatius’ story is certainly sad, it is hardly uncommon. How many of us have lost uncles, aunts, a brother, a parent, a spouse or a close friend to so-called incurable diseases? How many of us will also suffer the same fate?
In Singapore , the numbers are alarming - almost one in three of us will die of cancer. In fact, cancer, heart disease and stroke – all lifestyle diseases - account for nearly 62% of deaths (statistics from Ministry of Health).
Yet there is another way, one which would save countless lives and avert enormous suffering; one which more and more people are waking up to.
The research is clear – many modern diseases are linked to our diets. Evidence from world renowned researchers - such as Prof T. Colin Campbell, Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn, Dr. John McDougall and others – shows that the risk of cancer, heart disease, diabetes, osteoporosis etc. can be dramatically reduced through a healthful diet.

      Help us reach thousands more.
