High School Student Improves Her School Food And Her Mom’s Health

Here’s the first paragraph of an inspiring story about what one person can do with determination and the support of others.

“Nina Gonzalez, a junior at Stafford High School in Falmouth, VA [ USA ], went vegetarian during her freshman year [14yrs old]. But her school didn’t make it easy. The cafeteria had almost no options for her or for other students looking for a meatless meal. While visiting a neighboring school, she found vegetarian foods in the lunch line and soymilk in vending machines. Nina was determined to get these same healthful options in her own school.”

Belgian City Goes Veg Once A Week

The damage done by meat calls louder and louder for a response, and more people the world over are responding. A great example is the city of Ghent , Belgium . From May, government staff and elected officials will go veg once a week and from Sep, schools will follow suit. The goal is to protect the environment and to guard against obesity.
