The Basics of Organic Foods and A Healthy Diet
Ever get confused by the quality, price, nutrition and classifications of organic
foods? There are different interpretations on how to eat your way to a modern healthy living. However, do you know where and how to get started? Or, have you been experimenting for a long time and yet haven't gotten the hang of a healthy diet?
In the upcoming wellness seminar (to be conducted in Mandarin) on 24 June 2005 (Friday), 8.00 - 9.30pm, it's a pleasure to have Mr Wang from Taiwan, to discuss these two topics in detail.
Mr Wang is the proprietor of "Chyuan Shiang Energy Living", and also a qualified Quantum Medicine Consultant. Mr Wang has been, for many years, giving health talks in Taiwan and Southeast Asia. It's rare to be able to invite Mr Wang over, so please do not miss the opportunity to hear him speak!
Also, Mr Wang will be demonstrating some simple Qi Gong in the first 10min of the talk. You are reminded to be punctual. :)
Admission is free, but Pre-registration via Buona Vista CC is required:

New Video Evidence about What We Do to Chickens
It’s very unpleasant to watch, but the following site presents new evidence for why we should stop eating chickens and our other fellow animals: www.torturedbytyson.com. Tyson is the name of one of the world’s largest suppliers of chicken flesh.
Kampung Senang promotes vegetarianism in many ways: http://www.kg-senang.org.sg. These fine folks are sponsoring Shanghai Yue Opera Charity Nights, 24-25 June at Victoria Theatre. To book tickets: 9368.6565, 6544.0106, 6785.2568.
But, It’s in Philadelphia
A reader informs us of a “Singapore Kosher Vegetarian Restaurant” in Chinatown in Philadelphia, USA: http://www.vegetarian-restaurants.net/usa/PennPhilly.htm. Chosen as one of the best veg restaurants in that city by the Zagat Survey.
Matthew Scully, former deputy director of presidential speechwriting for President George W. Bush, former literary editor of The National Review and author of "Dominion: The Power of Man, The Suffering of Animals, and the Call to Mercy" is interviewed on the radio at:
http://www.theconnection.org/shows/2005/06/20050607_b_main.asp. Scully (http://www.matthewscully.com) is an articulate opponent of factory farming, although he does not seem to openly advocate vegetarianism.
Apparently, Carrie Underwood, the 2005 American Idol, is a vegetarian: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7750944.
