Group Description

This groups is for the purpose of presenting and learning basic gameplay. Its not meant to teach the rules. If you watch a log and see a rule that is wrong, awesome! That means you have read the rules :)
There are a lot of mistakes in these logs, that cannot be corrected. So sit back, and enjoy watching and learning a few new games.

Thanks to all the contributors who have helped get so many game demos!

In addition to my collection, please look at GMT's vassal and audio logs from trained professionals :)

This website is to help introduce players to wargames, using VASSAL to replay games. Some are instructional, some are just samples of gameplay.

Download the log file, load it in vassal and step through various tutorials of games

If you have any log files to share, please email them to vassaltraining@yahoogroups.com and let me know what game it is.

REQUIRED STEPS
1) You will need to install vassal
http://www.vassalengine.org/download.php

2) Download the module of the game you want to learn
http://www.vassalengine.org/wiki/Category:Modules

3) Download the tutorial- go to the file section here and download the log of the game you want to learn

4) Open vassal(step 1), then open the module you downloaded (Step 2) . As you load the module the options for LOAD GAME will show up, now load the .vlog from step 3. Usually join as "observer"

5) Now the game should appear on the screen, and press the PAGE DOWN button on your keyboard several times until the game "replay" starts.

Just a note, change your name to match the one I used in the game, use the passw0rd of 3 x's. Then join the side I played to see any hidden movements (Only applies to games I created)
