75 weight was the specified oil for classic 900 and 99 gearboxes back in the late 70s and early 80s. Saab later specified 10W30 or 10W40 after the 75 weight

80/90 is pretty thick... The access between gears & shafts is awfully tight. Thick lubes just don't get in there well. I'd go with Redline MTF, if I didn't
