Just a reminder for all those with a love of the Irish and British Saints
that in 2007 the Church of Russia designated the 3rd Sunday after Pentecost
      as the

Sunday of All Saints of Great Britain and Ireland

Presumably the Synod of Bishops of the Church Abroad will signify their
assent to this commemoration when there is time to consider it in synod. Or
      maybe they already have...?

Russian church to annually honor early British Isles saints

MOSCOW. Aug 21 (Interfax) - The Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church
instituted a holiday to honor Christians who lived on the islands of Great
Britain and Ireland and were canonized before the
1054 schism that divided Christendom into the Western Catholic and Eastern
      Orthodox churches.

The holiday will be an annual event observed on the third Sunday after
      Pentecost in the Julian Calendar.

The Synod, which met on Tuesday, also ordered that these saints' names be
included in the Menology after their Christian exploits have been studied.

The Synod's decision follows an appeal of March 3, 2007, in which the
diocese of Sourozh, a Russian Orthodox Church diocese having the islands of
Great Britain and Ireland for its territory, asked the
head of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Alexy II, and its Holy Synod
to institute a holiday for pre-1054 British and Irish saints.

I have placed four other liturgical texts in the Files of the ROCOR clergy
list which may be useful for any parishes with a blessing from their
hierarch to observe this Feastday next Sunday.

        1. All Saints of Britain Vigil (in English), composed in 1976 with the
blessing of Archbishop Anthony of Geneva

        2. The Canon (in Russian) from the above Vigil
Канон всем святым, в земли Вританнийстей просиявшим
(Память в Неделю 3-ю по Пятидесятнице) [богослужебные тексты]
        http://portal-credo.ru/site/?act=news&id=34968&cf

        3. An alternative Canon (in English) composed by Archimandrite David of
Walsingham (Moscow Patriarchate) and used in the UK Diocese with the
        blessing of Metropolitan Anthony Bloom

        4. Another Vigil Service (in English) by, I think, Fr Andrew Philips of
Felixstowe which appears to be based on the 1976 version.
