**The Liturgical Music Workshop will be a practical seminar on how to sing piously and prayerfully with two, three, four, or more singers in the choir. Singing properly and prayerfully with small groups of two or three will especially be stressed. The goal of the workshop is to give those who use Russian melodies tools that can be practically applied in the Divine Services at their home parishes. In addition, we hope that Anatoly Gridenko will be able to address us on Russian Orthodox Liturgical Chant of the 15th 17th Centuries. Cost of the Liturgical Music Workshop which includes lunch, instruction, and all materials is $35. Registration is limited! Please contact Tamara Real at artsalliance@... or 734-913-0952 to reserve your place at the workshop no later than October 22, 2007.
Scheduled presenters for the workshop are:
Reader Alexander Petrovsky (St. Sergius Cathedral, Cleveland, OH)
Carol Surgant (St. John Chrysostom Church, House Springs, MO)
Sponsored by the Liturgical Music Committee of the Diocese of Chicago & Mid-America and St. Vladimir Orthodox Church with the Blessing of Bishop Peter of Cleveland, and in Cooperation with the University Musical Society
